US and India Trip 2023

The Fashion Pact has incubated a project in partnership with 2050 called The Unlock Programme (‘Unlock’) which is testing an additional financial incentive (‘Unlock Units’) to encourage farmers’ increased adoption of lower climate impact and regenerative farming practices. 25 brands have signed up to be active participants in the Unlock working group and pilot process.

Laila Petrie, our CEO and the Unlock Senior Project Supervisor, participated in this first trip that included visits to farmers, cooperatives, cotton programme teams, cotton warehouses and gins in the US and India. It was an opportunity to connect directly with our local program partners, meet cotton growers and interact with supply chain members.
